Biographical Information About Paul Block

Paul Block is a 1975 graduate of the University of Wisconsin -La Crosse. He entered the financial services industry in 1981 as a tax practitioner for H & R Block. It was here that he gained invaluable experience regarding taxes, the Internal Revenue Code and tax planning.

In 1986 he joined The Prudential Insurance Company of America, now Prudential Financial, as a Registered Representative. He became proficient in risk management analysis (including Life, Disability, Health, Long Term Care and Property and Casualty insurances), estate planning, retirement planning, and investment planning. Paul became the Branch Manager for the La Crosse office of The Prudential in 1994. In this position he developed the ability to help others create and achieve goals. The La Crosse office increased in national rank from number 682 to number 14 over the next five years.

Paul resigned from management in 1999 and returned to private practice as a financial planner. In 2000 he earned both his Certified Financial Plannertm (CFP®) and his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. On July 1, 2005, Paul joined his long-time associate, Mark Kroll, to form Block & Kroll Financial.

Paul is a well known financial educator in western Wisconsin. He has taught over 1,100 insurance and investment professionals on topics covering ethics, annuities, estate planning, social security, long term care, and retirement planning. He has developed a specialty in working with retirees and those who are about to retire who want to protect their principal and ensure that their money lasts. His practice focuses on helping pre-retirees and retirees avoid making the most common financial mistakes.

Paul resides in the La Crosse area with his wife. He is available by appointment at his downtown La Crosse office.
